Printmedia Stencil Project

Aim:
The Printmedia Stencil Project is a six week course that aims to explore what constitutes art making practices and art viewing spaces. Students are encouraged to respond to the previous week's images in an attempt to initiate a creative and collaborative narrative.

Requirements:
Students will produce a series of stencils using various digital programs. These can include Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. The stencils will be cut and sprayed onto the allocated mural space.

Assessment:
Students will produce at least one stencil each per class (minimum six stencils by the end of semester).
At the end of each class, an image of each stencil will be uploaded to this blog. By the end of semester students will have a minimum of siz images on the blog. Each image will be accompanied by a statement explaining the ongoing development of the artist's contribution to the mural and how the narrative has been sustained (ie: how the artist has visually responded to the work of the other artists).
Aside from the blog contributions, each student is also required to produce a folio of their own stencils to be presented as a part of the Printmedia assessment for semester 1.

Note:
Please make sure you always come to this project with images and appropriate safety equipment (ie glasses/face masks etc) otherwide you will be unable to produce your work for the class.
